Biography
2015-16: Singles: Led WCC freshmen with 17-11 overall mark…went 10-8 in dual play… first collegiate match was 6-2, 6-3 win over Seattle U’s John Stormans Sept. 18…also reached Round of32 of ITA Northwest Regionals, beating opponents from Saint Mary’s and Pacific, including UoP’s No. 124th-ranked Miguel Diaz…reached quarterfinals of Bulldog Classic…won first collegiate dual with 6-1, 6-1 result over EWU’s Victor Pereira…downed No. 69 Arizona’s Harry Busby in three sets…took down Jack Swindell of Utah State in three sets Feb. 28...beat No. 35 Washington’s Enzo Sommer in three sets March 11…moved up to No. 2 singles and dominated No. 31 San Diego’s Filip Vittek March 25…played final six matches at No. 1 singles, winning two matches and taking another to a third set. Doubles: 14-8 in doubles play with a 9-6 dual doubles record……teaming with Hayden Smith, won doubles bracket at EWU Fall Classic with comeback win over Kovacs/Varney of Idaho…won three of first four dual matches with first loss coming at No. 69 Arizona…beat Verbeek/Diaz of No. 73 Pacific 6-2 Feb. 13…two big wins in a row Feb. 28 and March 8…back-to-back WCC wins against Santa Clara and San Francisco April 1-2…also swept Hunt/Markiewicz of Saint Mary’s April 15.
High School: Played tennis for six years at Oakhill College, Castle Hill…went undefeated in ISA (league) competition…earned a spot on the Member of Australian Merit Team in 2012…represented the state of New South Wales in the Pizzey Cup Competition – the School Sport Australia National Championships – in 2010 and 2012...off the court, was named Year 12 House Captain.
Club Experience: Five-time Australian national champion, winning two singles titles and three in doubles play…won national titles in Under 12, Under 14, and Under 16 competition…played out of Castle Hill Tennis Academy.
Personal: Parents are Michelle and Neil…has two brothers: Blake and Cameron...father Neil played tennis at Tulsa 1981-1984, topping the lineup during the ’83 and ’84 seasons…majoring in human physiology and wants to become a physiotherapist after a professional tennis career…loves Manchester United and the New England Patriots…chose Gonzaga because “the great facilities, good reputation, and it just felt right for me”.
