McKayla Ferris is in her first year as Volunteer Assistant Coach with Gonzaga volleyball.
Prior to joining the staff at Gonzaga, McKayla spent her fifth year of NCAA D1 volleyball eligibility competing on the “ones” team for No. 15 ranked Loyola Marymount Beach Volleyball Team. While there, she received 2017 All-WCC First Team honors and nomination for the WCC Female Student-Athlete Sportsmanship Award.
McKayla spent all four years of her indoor career as a six rotation outside hitter at Gonzaga University. The highlights of her career include assisting in 61 wins (2nd most in a four-year span during the Division I era), improving the team’s national ranking (up 102 spots over a four-year span) and finishing her senior year with a 10-8 West Coast Conference record (tied for third in the conference, with the second-most conference wins in Gonzaga history). Individually, she surpassed 1,000 career kills while also being recognized by the conference for her commitment to academics as a two-time WCC All-Academic First Team member and a two-time WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention.
Throughout her career, McKayla has served as a Collegiate Summer Camp Coach and Clinic Director. On the club circuit, she has served as a head coach with T3 Volleyball Club since 2018 in both beach and indoor.
McKayla earned her Bachelor’s degree in classical civilizations from Gonzaga in 2017 before completing her Master’s in Educational Studies at Loyola Marymount in 2018.
