The Waves used a balance attack, hitting .355 and dominating the net with 15 blocks. After falling behind 10-2 in game one, the Bulldogs rallied to close to within 13-11 on Britt Whiting's kill that culminated a 6-0 Gonzaga spurt. But Snow had a kill for a 14-11 Pepperdine lead and following a pair of sideouts Rouwenhorst put game one away.
The Bulldogs got to within 10-7 in game two, but the Waves scored four of their final five points in the game as a result of Bulldog attack errors.
The visitors wasted little time in game three, racing to a 12-2 lead after Emilie Heggli's service ace gave Gonzaga an early 1-0 advantage.
The Bulldogs play twice in the upcoming week, head to nearby Cheney on Tuesday to face Eastern Washington University, then returning home next Saturday for a West Coast Conference match against the University of Portland.
