CHENEY, Wash. - The Gonzaga University men's tennis team won its second match against the Eastern Washington Eagles of the season with a 7-0 victory on Saturday morning. The Bulldog men pull even at 3-3 with the victory.
Sophomore Bryce Cooper led the charge with a 6-5, 6-0 victory over Kevin Erickson in singles play. All of the Bulldogs followed Cooper's lead, including Dru Ernst, Reid Arthur, Brett Womack, Robert Penney and Jesse Goldsmith, all marking wins in singles play.
The men won two of three doubles matches, enough to gain the doubles point. Cooper and Ernst teamed up for a win over Aaron Heier and Erickson (8-5) and Arthur and Womack defeated the Eagles' tandem of Mosback and Eggers, 8-5.
The men's tennis team will finish up the Eastern Washington Invitational against Weber State on Sunday, Feb. 22.
