SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Gonzaga University posted two doubles victories but was unable to hold off Loyola Marymount University later in the singles matches, dropping a 4-1 decision in Saturday's second round of play at the West Coast Conference Championships.
Gonzaga (9-15) earned the match's first point after taking the two doubles matches. Roman Dojcak and Scott Sullivan won at No. 2 doubles 8-5 and the No. 3 doubles team of Tomasz Falkowski and Jake Davis clinched the point for the Zags with an 8-6 win.
LMU then rallied back with four wins out of the six singles matches to clinch the match. Dojcak played one of the best matches of the day, dropping a 6-2 7-6 decision at No. 2 singles.
The Bulldogs will close out the season against Santa Clara University 8 a.m. Sunday.
