Mosquera Perez And Kamisar Advance To Finals At EWU

CHENEY, Wash. - The Gonzaga University men's tennis doubles team of Pablo Mosquera Pérez and Nick Kamisar advanced to the finals of the White Flight to highlight a rainy second day of the EWU Fall Classic hosted by Eastern Washington University Saturday.

Kamisar and Mosquera Pérez took home two victories on the day. They opened the afternoon with an 8-6 winner over Connor Leahy and Riley Newman (Seattle University) and earned a place in the finals by downing Filip Fichtel and Sam Laudon (University of Idaho) 8-5.

The duo will face Kenny Dodd and Javier Martin-Morillas (Montana State University) Sunday.

Muzeen Ismath and Joey Brandt brought home the two Gonzaga singles victories of the day. Ismath won his quarterfinal consolation match over Sam Elsethagen (Lewis-Clark State College) 6-3, 6-4; but fell in the semifinal 2-6, 6-1, 1-0 (7); to Sam Laudon (Seattle).

Brandt advanced to the semifinals of Flight Three with a 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (3); triumph over Matt Boyle (Eastern Washington University). However, his day ended with a 7-6 (3), 6-3; decision to Fitchel (Idaho).

Both Kamisar's and Vladimir Mijatovic's bids in Flight One singles came to end as well. Kamisar dropped his semifinal match 6-4, 6-2; to Cristobal Ramos (Idaho) and Mijatovic went under to Jose Bendeck (Idaho) 7-6, 4-6, 1-0 (7).

Jack Schoebel also suffered a tough defeat in Flight Two singles. His semifinal loss came to the hands of Semion Branzburg (University of Montana) 7-5, 6-3.
