SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Gonzaga University junior Nick Kamisar was tabbed with All-West Coast Conference honorable mention accolades, announced the league office announced Monday. Kamisar was recognized for his singles play for the GU men's tennis team.
In his first season with the Zags, Kamisar has totaled a team-best 18 wins including 12 in the spring season. He has four wins at each the No. 1, 2 and 3 singles positions during the dual season. Kamisar carried a four-match winning streak from March 22 to 30, highlighted by a 2-6, 7-5, 7-6 victory over Saint Mary's College's Joakim Norstrom. The junior totaled a team-best three wins against WCC opponents.
The Bulldogs closed the regular-season 9-13 overall and 0-9 in the WCC. Gonzaga will open the WCC Championships against University of Portland on Wednesday. The dual is set to begin at 12:30 p.m. at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif.
