What's the biggest tip you would give to young aspiring volleyball players out there?
Advocate for yourself, and don't take no for an answer. Just because one college may not be interested doesn't mean that there won't be others. If playing college volleyball is what you want to do, don't stop until you find the perfect fit. There are a variety of different levels and locations that could be the perfect fit for you.

How/when did you start playing volleyball?
I didn't start playing seriously until the summer before my freshman year in high school. I sort of just jumped right in and gave it a shot, turned out to be a good decision!

What are your goals for the season?
Our goal is always a WCC Championship, that is always in the back of our minds. We strive to get this program there and every season since I've been here we've gotten a little closer. Personal goals, I'd have to say to just contribute in the best way I know how and to finish my last season on a high note!

If you had a day off from volleyball, what would you do?
I would probably go hiking or camping if I had enough time, but sometimes we're so tired I just want to sleep.

What made you choose Gonzaga?
It was the perfect balance between athletics and academics. They had a great engineering program as well as a competitive volleyball program. They told me they were interested in me, and it was too perfect to turn down. Not to mention I LOVE the northwest!

What is your favorite athletic memory at Gonzaga?
Honestly, after all the playing here for 4 seasons now, there are numerous games that stick in my mind that were essential to our growth as a program, but my favorite memories are those that I've created with my team. They have become my family, and when I leave this place, they will be what I remember the most.

After volleyball, what would be your dream job?
I would love to go into aerospace engineering. It is a pretty far out dream, and it would take some more schooling, but who knows, it could happen! In the back of my mind I've always loved the idea of being a outdoor guide in the summer and lift operator or ski patrol in the winter, but I suppose I should use the degree I spent 4 years getting!

What is your favorite thing about Spokane?
The northwest has always been my favorite. Being from Alaska, I can really appreciate a good scenic view and this place offers quite a few if you know where to go. I also like how tight the community is. These people really stand behind Gonzaga and lift us up through the course of our athletic endeavors.

Favorite sport (other than volleyball)
Skiing! I've been doing it since as long as I can remember and it has absolutely become an essential part of my life. I'm definitely a snow dweller!

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I used to rock climb as a kid, but haven't done it in a long time. I would love to get back into it, and get good enough in the rock gym to eventually take my skills to the outdoors and actually climb the real stuff. I also want to learn to scuba dive!
