Sept. 14, 2015 NEW ORLEANS -- After successful showings at the Bill Dellinger Invitational Friday, the Gonzaga women's and men's cross country programs appeared in the new USTFCCCA West Region rankings Monday.
There was not a lot of movement in the new polls since the preseason rankings were released on Sept. 2. The top 15 teams in the women's poll remained the same, while one through nine in the men's poll was identical. One change in the men's poll was the GU men switching from No. 10 to 11. They changed places with previous 11th-ranked Cal Poly. The Zag women remained at No. 10.
Both Gonzaga programs finished second at the Bill Dellinger Invitational in Eugene, Ore. The women finished with four runners in the top 10, led by Shelby Mills in third place. The GU men were paced by Matthew Crichlow's sixth place finish.
The Stanford women and men once again topped the rankings, followed by Oregon in both polls.
The Bulldogs are in Spokane for their next races. GU runs in the West Coast Conference Preview/Erik Anderson Invitational at Plantes Ferry Park Saturday. The men's race begins at 9 a.m., followed by the women at 9:40.
