LEAVING WITH THE WIN
- Jill Barta had her first double-double of the season with 18 points and 12 rebounds. It marked a career high in rebounds and was her fifth career double-double as Gonzaga defeated Winthrop 71-41 in the Paradise Jam on Saturday night. Kiara Kudron scored 11 points, tying her season high, and added seven rebounds, and Elle Tinkle got off to a great start and scored 10 points with six rebounds, her season high in boards. Jessie Loera kept the Zags charging in the second half with a career-high 11 points, making three threes.

PARADISE JAM RECAP
- The Zags got their first win at the Paradise Jam over Winthrop. GU came out dead even in the tournament, giving up 206 while scoring 206 points. The Zags shot 42 percent in the tourney, but their opponents shot 46 percent from the field. What hurt the Zags was their three-point percentage, as they shot 16-of-67 for 24 percent in the tourney, while allowing opponents to shoot 48 percent. GU did maintain a 6.7 advantage in rebounds per game (36.7-30) and a three block advantage in blocks per game (6.3-3.3).
- The Zags led the Reef Division in free throw percentage at 75 percent.
- They led in rebound average at 36.7 per game and blocked shots at 6.3 per game, almost double second-place Michigan.
- The losses to Michigan and Florida State were the only games this season where the Zags allowed the opponent to average more than one point per possession. The Zags offense has averaged more than one point per possession in every game except those two, and Nicholls State.

SERIES HISTORY
- Saturday marks the first meeting in program history.

SCOUTING THE BLUE HOSE
- The Blue Hose of Clinton, South Carolina, held East Carolina to just 54 points on Monday night, nearly 20 points below its season average, but it was not enough as the Pirates defeated PC, 54-46, in Greenville, N.C.
- Cortney Storey was named Big South Player of the Week. Storey led the Blue Hose in its only game of the week, an overtime loss to Texas Southern in the Puerto Rico Classic, scoring a season-high 26 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including a career-high-tying five makes from behind the arc.
- The Blue Hose women were picked to finish 5th in the Big South Preseason Poll.
- Taylor Petty, Cortney Storey and Aianna Kelly were each selected to the Preseason All-Conference Second Team.
- They are currently on game five of a seven-game road trip.
- First-year head coach Todd Steelman came from the University of Maine where he spent four seasons as associate head coach.
- Janie Miles leads the Blue Hose in scoring at 12 points per game. Salina Virola leads the team at 4.4 rebounds per game.
- They have failed to score more than 50 points in five of their games, and have not scored more than 63 in any of their games.
- The Blue Hose go seven deep, and have three players averaging over 33 minutes per game.
- The Blue Hose have players from nine different states on their 12-person roster.
- The nickname "Blue Hose" began in the early 1900's, when sportswriters referred to the Presbyterian College athletic teams as the "Blue Stockings" because of the blue socks they wore. Writers used the terms "stockings" and "hose" interchangeably over the years. The student body adopted the nickname as the official school nickname in the 1950's.

BARTA PARADISE JAM ALL-TOURNAMENT
- Jill Barta was one of five members selected to the Paradise Jam Reef Division All-Tournament Team.
- Barta's 27 points against Michigan were the most in a single game in the Reef Division. Her 12 rebounds against Winthrop were also a game high for the division.
- She led the division in scoring (21.7 ppg), free throw percentage (.944), field goals made (22), and free throws made (17). Barta was second in rebounds (20) and third in blocks (4).

BLOCK PARTY
- The Zags have blocked 41 shots already this season, compared to only 15 for their opponents. Jill Barta is leading the party with 1.83 blocks per game, 77th in the NCAA and third in the WCC. As a team GU is averaging 6.8 blocks per game, which is ninth in the NCAA and first in the WCC. Elle Tinkle is next with seven blocks and Emma Wolfram has six.

BACK IN YOUR OWN BED
- The Zags started the season 3-0 for the second time in head coach Lisa Fortier's three seasons. Similar to 2014-15, after the Zags started 3-0, they went 1-2 over their next three games that season. GU returned home with a convincing 73-41 win over Portland State to begin the December home stand in 2014. The Bulldogs were 5-1 in those games in 2014 and 4-1 last season.

I'LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS
- The Bulldogs are set to play five home games in the month of December and six games in the state of Washington this month, traveling to Eastern Washington. The Zags were home three times last December, with four games in Washington, traveling to Washington State. In 2014-15, GU also played five home games in December with six in their home state, traveling to Cheney once again.

PICK YOUR POISON
- Jill Barta is hurting her opponents from every spot on the floor. She is shooting 60 percent from the field, 26th in the country and second in the West Coast Conference. Barta is 48 percent from three, with 10 makes in 21 attempts, fourth in the WCC. Barta is most dangerous from the foul line, as she is 27-of-31 from the stripe this year, shooting 87 percent. That ranks 89th in the NCAA and third in the WCC. Barta has been especially good from the foul line lately, making 24 of the last 26 in the Zags' last four games. In their first two games of the Paradise Jam against Florida State and Michigan she went a perfect 15-of-15 from the stripe.
- She has led the Zags in scoring in the last four games and rebounds the last two games.
- She has made eight or more field goals in three games, and shot above 50 percent in all three games.
- When adding her efficiency from the foul line, her shooting percentage jumps from 60 percent to 74 percent.
- Her 113 points through six games this season is the most since Kayla Standish scored 117 in six games to start the 2011-12 season.

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN
- The Zags fell out of the Associated Press Top-25 Poll this week, after spending the previous week at No. 25. GU has been receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches Top-25 Poll every week this season, and are still receiving votes in the Associated Press Poll as well this week. In the AP Poll, the Zags are receiving seven votes and they garnered two votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll. The Bulldogs remain the highest ranked team from the West Coast Conference.

L-STOCK LEADING THE WAY
- After averaging 18.2 minutes per game coming off the bench in her freshman season last year, Laura Stockton is averaging 28.5 minutes per game and has started all six games at the point guard position. She has increased her assists per game average from 2.48 a season ago to 3.83 this year. She has also dropped her turnover rate from 2.15 per game to 1.83 per game. In three of her last four games, she has averaged over 35 minutes per game, and her 28.5 minutes per game on the season is most on the team.

SAMPLE SIZE
- She has not recorded enough shots to hit the list, but Jill Barta is a 44 percent career shooter with 410 attempts. That puts her just four percentage points short of No. 10 on the Gonzaga career lists. She is a career 83 percent shooter from the foul line, which would rank her second all-time at the end of the season if she maintains it. She has already scored 576 points in two seasons, only Elle Tinkle (710) has more career points on this year's team.
