Round 3 Pairings
PALM DESERT, Calif. -- Gonzaga men's golfer Sean Walsh is in first place following Round 2 of the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate Saturday.
Walsh was one-under-par (71) in the second round. His two-day total of 139 (-5) is one-stroke ahead of second place Sarosh Adi of TCU. The senior was even-par through the front-nine and one-under on the back-nine. He started the day with birdies on the first two holes and ended the day with birdies on the last two holes. His 10 birdies through 54 holes are the second-most in the 116-golfer field. The Keller, Texas native, leads the tournament shooting two-under on the course's par-three holes.
As a team, the Bulldogs climbed one spot on the leaderboard to seventh. The Zags are 18-over (594) through two rounds. GU has back-to-back nine-over (297) rounds.
Angus Montgomery is tied for 27th at five-over (149). He was four-over (76) on Day 2. The junior was one-over after the front-nine.
Ryan Gaske and Will Brueckner are both tied for 64th at nine-over (163). Brueckner jumped up 24 spots on the leaderboard after a 74 (+2) round Saturday. He had four birdies and nine pars in the round. The sophomore was bogey-free on the back-nine. Gaske carded a 76 (+4) in Round 2. Ben DuBois finished with a 78 (+6) on the second day. His two-day total is 168 (+24).
Kansas leads the team leaderboard at one-under (575) The Jayhawks were two-over (290) in the second round. They have a five-stroke lead over Texas Tech.
The final round on the Classic Club Golf Course begins Sunday morning. DuBois tees off first for the Zags at 7 a.m.
