Sept. 25, 2017 SPOKANE, Wash.--Gonzaga sophomore Jenna Kuehn earned West Coast Conference Player of the Week honors Monday after standout performances in last weekend's matches.
The Eugene, Ore., native did it all last weekend for the Bulldogs, tallying the program's first triple-double of the rally-scoring era while helping GU go 2-0 to open WCC play. Against Saint Mary's Sept. 21, the opposite hitter/setter set a career high with 15 kills and a .419 attack percentage while adding 23 assists and 10 digs to the Zags' five-set win. It was also the first triple-double by a WCC player this season.
Two days later, Kuehn followed up with 14 kills and 26 assists for a double-double, and she was just two digs shy of double digits in digs with eight against Pacific. In all, Kuehn led the Zags with 29 kills on a .400 attack percentage over the weekend while adding 29 assists, 18 digs, and a pair of blocks.
This is Kuehn's first career Player of the Week honor, and she is the first Bulldog to earn the award this season.
Gonzaga continues WCC play this Thursday, Sept. 28, at Santa Clara. That match will begin at 7:00 p.m.
