Series Notes:
- Gonzaga and San Diego meet for the 64th time in program history and the 32nd time in Spokane.
- The Bulldogs are 0-5 against the Toreros under Diane Nelson.
- Gonzaga's last win over San Diego came on Sept. 30, 1994 with a 3-1 win in Spokane. The series dates back to 1987 when the first conference match between the two teams was played. Gonzaga was successful early on in the series, winning 9 of the first 15 contests included a seven-match win streak from 1988-91.
 
SCOUTING SAN DIEGO:
- The Toreros average 13.69 kills per set hitting .238 to go along with 12.70 assists and 13.37 digs per set. San Diego also adds 2.27 blocks per set.
- Four players average at least 2.00 kills per set, led by Lauren Fuller with 2.80. Roxie Wiblin adds 2.69 while Katie Lukes and Addie Picha add 2.22 and 2.21 kills per set, respectively.
- Anna Newsome leads the Toreros with 6.68 assists per set while Laura Madill adds 4.84. Picha leads the defensive effort with 1.54 blocks per set, good for eighth in the nation, while Kelli Barry adds 3.13 digs per set to lead the squad.
- USD has just two losses in conference play: one against Saint Mary's to open WCC action (3-2; 25-22, 20-25, 22-25, 25-20, 16-14) and another four-set loss against BYU (25-21, 24-26, 25-16, 25-10). They've had two four-match win streaks over the course of the season, and the Toreros are currently on a four match win streak with wins over Santa Clara, San Francisco, Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount. Each of those four wins have been sweeps.

Series Notes:
- Gonzaga and BYU meet for the 20th time in program history and the eighth time in Spokane
- The Bulldogs are 0-5 against the Cougars under Diane Nelson.
- Gonzaga's lone win over BYU came on Nov. 7, 2011 in Provo. The Bulldogs hit .291 for the match and finished with 68 kills, 65 assists, 72 digs and 6.0 blocks in the 3-1 match win. Gonzaga's 68 kills rank ninth in program history during the rally scoring era for kills in a four set match, while its 65 assists rank seventh.
 
SCOUTING BYU:
- The Cougars are one of two unbeaten teams in the nation; No. 5 Pittsburgh is also undefeated at 22-0.
- BYU ranks in the top 30 in six statistical categories: Hitting percentage (1st; .328); opponent hitting percentage (3rd, 1.36); kills per set (15th, 14.12); blocks per set (17th, 2.75); assists per set (21st, 13.18); and aces per set (29th, 1.57).
- Roni Jones-Perry leads the offensive attack with 4.48 kills per set (14th nationally) hitting .356. McKenna Miller adds 3.18 per set hitting .302. Lyndie Haddock-Eppich adds 10.94 assists per set (32nd nationally), while Mary Lake adds an even 4.00 digs per set.
- The Cougars have only lost five sets on the season with two sets lost against then-No. 1 Stanford on Aug. 31. In conference play, RV San Diego is the only team to have stolen a set so far.

NOTES:
- Saturday's match against BYU is a PINK match. Fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
