"The wind was down today from yesterday, providing good scoring conditions," GU Head Coach
Robert Gray said. "We started off better today, but had a hiccup towards the end of the round. Even so, we gave ourselves a chance to climb the leaderboard, ultimately finishing about the same as we started. Overall, these young men competed well. We made some mistakes that a younger team makes over the three rounds but to be in the mix with some of these solid teams is a great sign.
"What a great round from Charlie today! His score was huge for the team today and one we really needed. His round today also propelled him 22 spots up the leaderboard for a very good showing in a strong field. Matt continued his consistency with an even par, 71 to give him a great finish in a strong field. He's always been capable of putting up these kinds of numbers and we're so happy for it to all come together for him."
California had its lowest round of the tournament Sunday, with a team total of 264 (-20). The No. 26 Golden Bears placed first at 47-under (805). No. 27 North Florida was second at 36-under (816) and No. 11 Oklahoma was third at 35-under (817).
