SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga men's tennis hosts a pair of matches inside the Stevens Center this week against Seattle U and Montana State on Friday and Saturday.
The Zags will take on Seattle U on Friday afternoon at 5 p.m. in the dual match, and then face MSU on Saturday at Noon. GU is coming off a 12-day break from matches after defeating Whitman and Whitworth by 7-0 sweeps in a doubleheader on Jan. 20 at home.
In those two matches, GU went 12-0 in singles, losing just one set altogether, and 5-1 in doubles. Emilio Moreno, Hunter Egger, Kyle Everly and Matthew Perkins each went 2-0 in singles.
Seattle U is 0-1 in duals on the season with a 5-2 loss to Portland State. The Redhawks are led by Colton Weeldreyer, who has a 6-5 mark in singles on the year, including a singles win in the team's first dual match.
Montana State is 0-2 on the season after losses to Utah and BYU on Jan. 19-20. Senior Creel Smith, who took the lone victory against the Cougars, leads the Bobcats.
