SPOKANE, Wash. – With a predicted hurricane scheduled to hit the Hawaiian Islands this weekend, Gonzaga's trip to Hawai'i has been canceled. Instead, the Bulldogs will travel to Los Angeles for two matches at No. 11 UCLA. The Zags will take on the Bruins Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. at the John Wooden Center (Collins Court).
Gonzaga was scheduled to open its season Friday against Hawai'i in the first of three matches in the Hawaiian Airlines Rainbow Wahine Classic in Honolulu; the Bulldogs were scheduled to face the Bruins Aug. 25 and Kansas State Aug. 26. However, category 4 Hurricane Lane is scheduled to hit Honolulu on Friday, prompting both Gonzaga and UCLA to reroute back to the mainland.
