SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga women's and men's cross country programs announced their 2019 schedule Wednesday.
 
The Zags open their 2019 schedule at the annual Clash of the Inland Northwest on Aug. 31. The rotating meet is hosted by Eastern Washington University this season in Cheney. The races will give the Bulldogs great starts to their season over the 6,000 and 4,000-meter courses. Last year, seven Zags placed in the top eight of the men's race, led by James Mwaura.
 
On Sept. 13, Gonzaga makes the short trip to Colfax, Wash., for the Cougar Classic. Another Mwaura first place finish led the Bulldog men to another team title last season at the meet. The Colfax Golf Course hosted the 2015 Pac-12 Championships and hosts the NCAA West Regionals this year.
 
After a two-week break, the GU women travel to the Roy Griak Invitational in St. Paul, Minn. The Zag men are at the Joe Piane Invitational hosted by Notre Dame in Indiana on Oct. 4. The two races in the Midwest will provide the Bulldogs with a chance to run against some of the nation's best.
 
On Oct. 12, Gonzaga sends a select group to the annual Inland Empire Classic in Lewiston, Idaho. The Inland Empire Classic returns to the Lewiston Orchards, where GU swept the women's and men's team titles in 2015.
 
The Zag men return to the Midwest on Oct. 18, for the Nuttycombe Invitational in Madison, Wis. The race will be run on the same course that hosted last year's national championship and Pre-Nationals races. The GU men placed ninth at last season's Pre-Nationals. The Bulldogs also have another group of runners at the Sasquatch Invitational on Oct. 18. The Gonzaga women and men swept the team titles at last year's races at the Downriver Golf Course.
 
On Oct. 19, the Zags will be represented by a women's squad at the Arturo Barrios Invitational in College Station, Texas.
 
Loyola Marymount hosts the 2019 West Coast Conference Championships in Los Angeles on Nov. 1. The Bulldogs will look for more All-Conference finishes, before returning to Colfax, for the NCAA West Regionals on Nov. 15. This year's national championships are in Terre Haute, Ind., on Nov. 23.
