ITA Kickoff Weekend
-Â The No. 4 UCLA women's tennis team hosts Gonzaga, Loyola Marymount and Minnesota for ITA Kickoff Weekend.
- Play from Los Angeles Tennis Center begins Friday at 9:30 a.m., PT, when Gonzaga takes on LMU. The Bruins will play in the day's second match at 1:30 p.m., against Minnesota.
- Saturday will see the winners square off at 3 p.m. for a spot in the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Chicago, Ill, while the consolation match will occur at 6 p.m.
Opening Weekend
- Gonzaga went 1-1 in a pair of matches in Denver, Colo., to open the dual-match season.
- The Zags opened with a 4-3 win over Colorado State in a neutral site match.
- Freshman
Jenna Sloan picked up a pair of singles victories on the weekend.
Gonzaga Invitational Tournament:
-Â Individually, freshmanÂ
Jenna Sloan earned the singles title with an 81.8 win-percentage, winning 36 of her 44 games played for the tournament, including a 6-1, 6-1 win in Sunday's final round.Â
- Kate Ketels was next with a 76.6 win-percentage andÂ
Taylor Gruber was fourth at 66.1 percent.

Fall Success

Kate Ketels and
Vlada Medvedcova each posted eight wins during the fall season to lead the team.Â

Cate Broerman had seven tournament wins and
Haruna Tsuruta had six.Â
- In doubles, the duo of Medvedcova and Ketels went 3-0, while
Taylor Gruber and Broerman went 4-2 as a pair.
- Ketels made an impressive singles run at the ITA Northwest Regionals, advancing to the quarterfinals before falling to the top seed.
- Broerman made a run at regionals winning three matches to make it to the Round of 16.Â
- Broerman also reached the final of her bracket at the Cal Invite in her first career tournament.Â

- The Zags welcome four freshman to the squad as well as one transfer in
Taylor Gruber from Missouri.
- The group of newcomers includes California natives

Cate Broerman and Montana's
Maria Frampton.Â
- Tsuruta posted a 9-6 singles record and 11-10 doubles record last year, playing in the No. 4 and 5 spots in the lineup.
- Ketels went 9-12 in singles and 15-13 in doubles, playing primarily at No. 5 and 6 in the lineup.
- Gruber brings collegiate experience to the squad after posting a 16-11 mark, spending time in the Nos. 3, 4, 5, and 6 spots in the Tiger lineup.Â
Look Back to 2018-19
- The Zags ended the season ranked No. 51 and finished the year with a 13-10 overall record
- They advanced all the way to the West Coast Conference championship match before falling to top-seeded and sixth-ranked Pepperdine.
- The season included All-America and WCC Player of the Year awards forÂ
Sophie Whittle, berths in the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships by Whittle andÂ
Graciela Rosas, and the pair being named to All-WCC Teams in singles and doubles.
