Men's Rowing Hosts the Head of the Spokane on Saturday

The team will compete against WSU for the second-straight week

SPOKANE, Wash. –
The Gonzaga men's rowing team is hosting the Head of Spokane this Saturday for the second fall regatta of the season.

The regatta takes place on the Spokane River and begins at 9 a.m.

"The team is fired up and ready to race," head coach Dan Gehn said. "Last week was a good start but we need to keep improving all the way through our racing in San Diego in November."

In the first flight, the Bulldogs will have two boats racing. The next flight Gonzaga has competition is the third flight, which begins at 10:40 a.m. There will be two other boats for GU competing in the flight.

Gonzaga is set to go against Washington State University in both flights.

With this being a head race, each boat will take off from the start one at a time with a 15 second gap between each boat.

LAST TIME OUT
The Gonzaga men's rowing team competed at the first fall regatta of the season at the Head of the Snake and won two races.

In the first flight, Gonzaga's 1V8+ boat won the race with a time of 7:20.1. WSU go second with a time of 7:29.8. GU also had a novice boat race, placing fifth overall with a time of 9:26.3.

The 2V8+ boat finished first overall with a time of 8:11.4 in the second flight. The novice boat took fourth overall with a time of 9:25.9. The race had boats seven boats from GU and WSU. The races were shortened due to win and the water condition down to 2350.
