SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga women's team finished up their fall season as day three of the Gonzaga Invitational wrapped up today. Three Zags competed in singles matches and three duos played in the doubles rounds.
In the double's semifinals, Cate Broerman and Adrianna Sosnowska defeated Misaki Kobayashi and Uxia Martinez Moral of Oregon in the blur draw, 6-0. In the red bracket, Caroline Wernli and Frederikke Svarre moved on the bracket finals due to a walk over. Tiegan Aitken and Kianna Oda went against Ashley Chang and Yolanda Lin of Washington, falling 6-3.
In the blue double's finals, Broerman and Sosnowska defeated Tara Chilton and Hikaru Sato of Washington, 6-1, to take the bracket. In the red bracket, Svarre and Wernli battled but fell to Ashley Chang and Yolanda Lin of Washington, 6-2.
In the singles bracket, Kianna Oda competed with Zoey Weil of Washington in the purple finals, but fell, 6-3, 7-6(6). In the blue bracket, Catherine Broerman fell to Iva Zelic of Portland, 6-4, 3-6 [10-6].
This concludes the fall season for the women's tennis team as the Zags will pick up their spring schedule in 2022. The full schedule can be found at GoZags.com at a later date.
