EUGENE, Ore. - The Gonzaga men's golf team is in 13th place after the first two rounds of the 29th annual Oregon Duck Invitational at the Eugene Country Club hosted by the University of Oregon.

Jace Minni leads the Bulldogs finishing the day tied for 21st at five-over (147). The freshman improved his performance after carding a 75 (+4) in the first round, and a 72 (+1) in the second. Minni also leads the tournament in average Par-3 scoring with a 2.75 (-2).

Charlie Magruder and Matthew Ruel are both tied for 60th after day one with a 156 (+14). Magruder had an impressive first round tying Minni for the lowest score of the day for the Zags with a 75 (+4). Ruel was five-over (76) in the second round.

Zach Stoker is just one stroke behind after finishing the day with a 157 (+15) total, tied for 66th. Brentt Salas rounds out the squad tied for 72nd at 16-over (158).

As a team, Gonzaga is 45-over (613) entering the final round. The Bulldogs were 21-over (305) in the first round and 24-over (308)

Heading into the second day, Oregon leads all teams after two rounds at four-over (572). Individually, Spencer Tibbits of Oregon State and Hugo Townsend of Boise State are tied for first at five-under (137) on the day.

The Zags will be back on the course tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., for the third and final round. Live scoring will be available on GoZags.com.

The course played tough today with pins requiring precision shots to have good birdie opportunities. Weather was better than expected with just a few short showers. Didn't have our best today but another opportunity awaits tomorrow to play the way we're capable.
