SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga men's tennis team swept Loyola Marymount 4-0 Friday evening inside the Stevens Center for its first West Coast Conference victory of the year.

The Lions took an early lead in doubles defeating
Theo McDonald and
Oliver Andersson 6-1 on court 1.
Matthew Perkins and
Matthew Hollingworth responded with a 6-3 win against Emin Torlic and Ethan Prost on court 2, leaving court 3 to determine the doubles point. On court 3,
Sasha Trkulja and
Leon Roider persisted to win 7-6 (7-4) in a tie break and provide Gonzaga with a 1-0 advantage going into doubles.
"I'm really proud of the guys," said McDonald. "We fought extremely hard today and it felt great to get a West Coast Conference win at home."
Gonzaga had a strong start in singles with Hollingworth defeating Diego Nava 6-3, 7-5 on court 1 followed by a 6-2, 7-6(7-5) win by Trkulja on Court 2 against Daniel Moreno. Minutes later
Hunter Egger won 6-3, 7-6 (7-1) to clinch the match and provide the Bulldogs with their fourth and final point.
"I'm really proud of all the boys. They showed exactly what it means to be a ZAG today," said Egger. "It was great to get my first conference clinch at home."
Gonzaga returns to play Sunday, April 18 in its final home match of the season; the match will also serve as Senior Day for both
Matthew Perkins and
