SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga women's tennis team swept Saint Mary's 4-0 inside the Steven's Center Friday morning.
The Bulldogs opened with a dominating performance in doubles play, winning two of the three courts and while leading on the third before it went unfinished. At No. 1 doubles,
Adrianna Sosnowska and
Hannah Jones were first to finish, defeating Saint Mary's Mariia Kozyreva and Danielle McIntyre 6-2. Shortly thereafter,
Kate Ketels and
Haruna Tsuruta won 6-3 on court 2 to secure the doubles point. On Court 3,
Cate Broerman and
Kianna Oda led SMC 5-3 when the Zags clinched the doubles point.
In singles play, Tsuruta was first to finish at No. 4, defeating Gabriela Tevez 6-2, 6-3.
Jenna Sloan was the next to finish, sweeping Saint Mary's Jocelyn Massey 6-0 in the first set and winning 6-4 in the second at No. 6. Broerman clinched the match, defeating Jordan Harris 6-1, 6-4 on court 3.
