The Gonzaga women's tennis team kicks off the spring season tomorrow against Cal Poly. The match will take place in Eugene, Ore., as Gonzaga was also set to also compete against Oregon, but the match is postponed due to COVID protocols within UO's program.
"We are excited to get the opportunity to play this weekend," head coach Natalie Pluskota-Hamberg said. "The girls have been extremely intentional with their preparation and are eager to get the spring season started."
Live stats for the match can be found here. The matches will also be streamed here.
The women's team was originally supposed to start their season last weekend, but matches against Montana and Washington State were postponed due to COVID protocols within their programs.
In the fall slate, the women's team kept busy by competing at the Gopher Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn., the ITA Regionals in Palo Alto, Calif., and hosting the Gonzaga Invitational in Spokane.
Junior Cate Broerman and senior Adrianna Sosnowska advanced to the round of 16 in the ITA Regionals and found success at their own home tournament by winning their bracket.
Off the court, the team posted the highest GPA in the athletic department with a 3.73 GPA during the fall semester.
The Bulldogs return home on Feb. 4 to host Montana State. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
