PALO ALTO, Calif. -- The Gonzaga women's tennis team continued their performance in the ITA Regionals earlier today.

Opening up the Round of 32 of the doubles Main Draw, Gonzaga's Tiegan Aitken and Kianna Oda battled, but lost their match against the University of California—Berkeley's Makenna Thiel and Erin Richardson by a score of 8-3. The ITA Regionals was the first time Aitken and Oda have paired up for doubles competition this fall season.

In Gonzaga's other Main Draw doubles match, Cate Broerman and Adrianna Sosnowska clinched an 8-6 victory over Washington's Jennifer Kerr and Erika Matsuda. This is the second consecutive year that Broerman and Sosnowska have made the Round of 16 of the doubles Main Draw bracket.

Moving to the singles competition of the Main Draw, Broerman came out victorious in her Round of 32 match against Thiel, winning 6-3, 6-4 in straight sets. In her Round of 16 match against Stanford's Alexis Blokhina, Broerman battled, but lost 6-0, 6-3. This is the farthest a Zag has made it in the singles Main Draw bracket since the 2019-20 season, when Gonzaga's Kate Ketels made the Semifinals and Broerman made the Round of 16 as a freshman.

In the final singles match of the day for Gonzaga, Oda fell in her Consolation Round of 64 match against San Jose State's Carolina Millan by a score of 6-2, 7-6.
