Bulldogs have three races tomorrow in the final day
RESULTS
SAN DIEGO, Calif.—The Gonzaga women's rowing team had a good first day in the San Diego Crew Classic.
"I am very proud of how the team raced and executed today," head coach Andrew Derrick said. "It's a really fun squad and seeing them starting to believe in what we are capable of has been so enjoyable. We have some outside lanes tomorrow, but it's a great chance to show some resilience and race hard against some great competition."
The Varsity Eight boat finished second behind only Stanford with the time of 06:58.78, which was only three seconds behind Stanford. The Varsity Four boat took third place with a time of 08:03.66, with Texas and California taking first and second. The Second Varsity Eight boat took fourth place with a time of 06:48.80, with Texas getting first place.
The Varsity Eight boat will now race tomorrow in their Final 1 race scheduled at 9:51 a.m., and the Varsity Four boat will also race in their Final 1 race scheduled at 10:23 a.m. The Second Varsity Eight boat will also race in their Final 1 race at 10:47 a.m.
