CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Gonzaga women's and men's track teams had several stellar finishes at the OSU High Performance Meet Friday.
Alicia Anderson led the GU women from distance with a second-place finish in the 1500m invitational, crossing the line in 4:21.68 for a new personal best and the second-fastest outdoor 1500m in program history.
Brittney Hansen followed with a 4:32.55 time that ranks as the fifth-fastest in program history for a personal best of her own to make it two Zags in the Top 10.
Sadie Tuckwood placed second in the 1500m Open at 4:38.62.
In the 5K invitational heat,
Emily Phelps (17:09.91) and
Makenna Edwards (17:11.93) went seventh and eighth. In the men's 5,000 meters,
Aidan Baughan crossed the line in fourth at 14:49.95.
Jeremiah Mackie (14:47.54) and
Jackson Lyne (14:49.63) were 19
th and 21
st in the 5000m Invitational.
Emilee Growth was 10
th in the women's 400m hurdles with a time of 1:06.14.
The GU men are at the Oregon Twilight Meet next Friday, while the Zag women are in Los Angeles for the Occidental Invitational on May 7.
