SARASOTA, Fla. – After a couple weather delays, the Gonzaga women's rowing team completed the second day of the NCAA Championships with one race per boat today.

The first race of the day was the 1V8 boat, which finished third overall in the Semi-Final 3, ahead of Boston University and Northeastern. Cassidy Parr stroked the crew to a 6:31.516 finishing time as Oregon State took first with a 6:25.254 time. The performance puts the Zags into the C Final tomorrow morning, which begins at 6:10 a.m. Pacific Time. Gonzaga will race against Oregon State, Duke and Rutgers in the final competition of the season.

The 2V8 crew competed next and placed fourth with a time of 7:02.925 in the Semi-Final 3 race with Mollie Monson in the eight seat. The performance put the Zags ahead of Rhode Island as Rutgers took first in 6:44.097. Tomorrow, the boat competes at 5:34 a.m. in the D Final against Rhode Island, Jacksonville and Northeastern.

The final race of the day with the 1V4 crew had a lightning delay right before launching, which pushed back race times an hour out. GU placed third overall after the delay with Serena Foster stroking the boat to a 7:35.671 finish. The Bulldogs finished ahead of Rhode Island and Boston University as Syracuse placed first with a time of 7:27.609.
