SPOKANE, Wash. – After just recently being named West Coast Conference Player of the Year, senior
Kaylynne Truong has been selected as an AP All-American Honorable Mention the outlet announced Wednesday.
Truong, a first-time honoree, was named First Team All-Conference this season. She is currently dishing out five assists a game to rank first in the conference and 32nd in the country. Overall, she has recorded 160 assists which is good for 29th in the nation. She has also scored in double figures in 29 games total this year. From beyond the arc, Kaylynne has made 93 three pointers this season to break the GU record of made threes in a season, which was previously 90 from Jessica Malone in 2001-02.
Truong is the seventh Zag to earn Associated Press All-America accolades, joining Shannon Mathews (2005), Stephanie Hawk (2007), Courtney Vandersloot (2009, 2010, 2011), Haiden Palmer (2014),
Jill Townsend (2021) and
Jenn Wirth (2021), all of whom were all selected honorable mention during their respective seasons.
