SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Gonzaga men's tennis team continued their spring conference schedule with an away match against Santa Clara University. Entering today's match, Gonzaga had won the two previous meetings between the Zags and Broncos.

In the doubles competition, Gonzaga got off to an early lead when Tom Hann and Pablo Gomez Galvan defeated Santa Clara's Mann Shah and Santiago Hinojosa by a score of 6-2 on court three. Gonzaga clinched the doubles point when Leon Roider and Arthus Bassetiere earned a 6-2 court two win over Santa Clara's Christian Lerby and Jack Pulliam.

With the doubles point already clinched by Gonzaga, the court one match between Gonzaga's Sasha Trkulja and Matthew Hollingworth and Santa Clara's Arthur Neuhaus and Guillaume Dalmasso went unfinished, ending with a score of 5-3.

Moving to the singles matches, Santa Clara tied the competition when Shah defeated Hollingworth 6-2, 6-4 on court four. Gonzaga reclaimed the lead when Trkulja picked up a 7-6, 6-4 court one victory against Dalmasso. In the No.5 spot, Hann earned his second victory of the weekend, defeating Hinojosa by a score of 6-3, 7-6.

On court six, Santa Clara's Jack Pulliam clinched a 2-6, 6-4, 6-0 win over Roider. Shortly after, Andersson battled, but lost his match against Neuhaus by a score of 6-2, 5-7, 6-3. Santa Clara clinched the team victory when Lerby earned a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 court three win against Bassetiere.

Up next: Following today's match, the Zags will return to Spokane on April 7th, when they are scheduled to face Pepperdine at 1 pm. The following day, the Zags will play Loyola Marymount at 10 am in the Stevens Center.

Records: The season record for Gonzaga moves to 7-8 with the loss. For Santa Clara, the win improves their record on the year to 11-7. The historical record between Gonzaga and Santa Clara also moves to 7-21 in favor of the Broncos.
