MORAGA, Calif. – The Gonzaga men's tennis team continued their spring conference schedule with a match against Saint Mary's and fell 5-2. Coming into the event, the Zags had won three of the previous four matchups against the Gaels.
 
In the doubles competition, Saint Mary's earned an early victory when Aiden Watt and Carlos Ramos Membrives defeated Gonzaga's Sasha Trkulja and Matthew Hollingworth 6-2 on court one. Gonzaga tied the doubles competition when Leon Roider and Arthus Bassetiere earned a 6-4 court two victory against Saint Mary's Caelan Potts and Diego Jarry. Gonzaga clinched the doubles point when Tom Hann and Pablo Gomez Galvan claimed a 7-6 win over Saint Mary's Mathis Moysan and Felipe Rincon in the No.3 spot.
 
Transitioning to the singles competition, Saint Mary's Pierre Lieutaud tied the competition with his 6-3, 6-0 win over Gonzaga's Gus Krauel. Shortly after, Saint Mary's earned the lead when Ramos defeated Bassetiere by a score of 6-2, 7-6 on court three. In the No.4 spot, Moyson clinched a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory against Hann.
 
Gonzaga continued to battle in their remaining singles matches. On court one, Trkulja earned an impressive 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 win in back-and-forth fashion. Saint Mary's clinched the team victory when Jarry grabbed a 2-6, 7-5, 6-3 victory against Andersson on court two. In the final singles match of the day, Potts defeated Roider by a score of 6-4, 1-6, 6-5.
 
Up next: The Zags will remain on the road following today's match, as they will play the University of Pacific on April 16 at 11 a.m. Gonzaga will conclude their regular season when they play Portland at 12 p.m. in the Stevens Center on Saturday, April 22.
