PENNSAUKEN, New Jersey -- The Gonzaga women's rowing team finished the second day of the NCAA Championships this morning. The races continue tomorrow morning at Camden County Boathouse with the first race beginning at 5:24 a.m. Pacific Time.
In the 1V8 race, the Zags competed in the third heat and finished fifth with a time of 6:44.551, which was 22 seconds faster than yesterday's race. Their finish put them in the Final D race tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. Pacific Time as the Bulldogs will go against George Washington, Jacksonville and Navy.
The 2V8 crew raced in the fourth heat and placed fourth with a finishing time of 6:58.311, which was also a big improvement from yesterday's competition. Tomorrow, the boat will competed in the Final D race against Jacksonville, Navy and Northeastern, at 5:36 a.m.
Rounding out the first day of competition was the 1V4 crew that placed third in the fourth heat with a time of 7:37.950, almost a minute faster than yesterday's race. The boat will race again tomorrow in the Final C race against Indiana, Penn, Rutgers, Syracuse, and Southern California at 5:24 a.m.
