SPOKANE, Wash. – Yvonne Ejim scored 22 points as Gonzaga fell just short to Oregon State in overtime, 71-67.
Ejim was the leading scorer and rebounder for GU (6-8, 1-2 WCC) with eight boards.
Allie Turner was the other scorer in double figures with 17 as she shot 50% from beyond the arc.
Maud Huijbens also scored nine points with seven rebounds.
Gonzaga opened the game with a 9-0 run and took an 18-17 lead at the end of the first. Ejim led with eight points and McKynnlie Dalan grabbed a team-high three rebounds to help outrebound the Beavers, 12-6, in the opening minutes.
The Beavers (5-8, 1-1 WCC) outscored GU in the second quarter, 14-10, to take the 31-28 lead at the half. Ejim had a team-high 12 points as the Zags went 38.7% from the floor in the opening half. Kelsey Rees paced OSU with 10 points.
The Zags opened the second half with 23 points in the third quarter after shooting 69.2% from the floor. As a team, Gonzaga also shot 75% from beyond the arc in the quarter as

GU took a 51-44 lead going into the final quarter after also holding the Beavers to only 13 points in the third.
The Zags increased their lead to 10 points midway through the final quarter, 57-47. OSU went on a run to tie the game with 20 seconds left in regulation to send it to overtime.
In overtime, Gonzaga was outscored 10-6, with all six points coming from Turner. The Bulldogs were without Huijbens and Ejim for the majority overtime as well.
Overall, Gonzaga outrebounded the Beavers 43-31. The Zags also shot 41.8% from the floor and held OSU to 39.3%.
Notes: Ejim has scored double digits in 56-straight games. She has now scored 1,938 points in her career. This also marks the 10th time this season that she has scored 20 points or more in a game.
