Lauren Whittaker has been named to New Zealand's Senior Women's National Team to help qualify Team New Zealand for the Olympics this summer.
Whittaker joins the team in China to play three games this week, Feb. 8-11.
FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament
The team's path to Paris has led up to this moment. From February 8-11, 16 countries, split into four groups, will compete for the final 10 qualification spots (USA & France have already qualified rounding the total to 12) to secure their spot in the Summer Olympics.
New Zealand is in tournament Group 1 that will be hosted in Xi'An, China alongside China, France, and Puerto Rico. The top three teams following round-robin play will automatically qualify for the 2024 Olympics in Paris this summer.
