SPOKANE, Wash. – This afternoon, the Gonzaga men's tennis team celebrated Senior Day by hosting Santa Clara in a conference dual match. Entering the match, the Bulldogs had won two of the previous three matchups against the Broncos, a streak dating back to the 2022 season.
 
Starting with the doubles competition, Gonzaga's Sasha Trkulja and Matthew Hollingworth continued their dominant season, defeating Santa Clara's Sebastian Buxman and Guillaume Dalmasso on court one by a score of 6-0. Today's doubles victory gives the pair 19 total doubles wins this season, which is the second-most by any pair in Gonzaga men's tennis history. In addition, Hollingworth's 21 total doubles wins are tied for the most in a singles season in program history.
 
On court three, Santa Clara's Tiago Boschmans and Lukas Maskow tied the doubles competition when they earned a 6-2 win over Gonzaga's Oliver Andersson and Gus Krauel. In the No.2 spot, Gonzaga's Leon Roider and Pablo Gomez Galvan battled back from a 6-2 deficit in the tiebreaker, but Santa Clara clinched the doubles point when Christian Lerby and Luca Lemaitre claimed the 7-6 victory.
 
As the singles competition began, Gonzaga quickly tied the match when Galvan clinched an impressive 6-2, 6-1 win against Lemaitre on court four. Santa Clara regained the lead on court five, as Maskow defeated Gonzaga's Oscar Rashed by a score of 6-2, 7-6. Shortly after, Dalmasso claimed a 7-6, 7-6 court two win over Hollingworth. In the No.3 spot, Santa Clara clinched the team victory when Buxman defeated Roider by a score of 6-4, 6-3.
 
Up next: Today's match concludes the regular season for the Gonzaga men's tennis team. The Bulldogs' 2024 fall tournament schedule will be released later this summer.
