LONDON, England – Incoming Gonzaga men's tennis freshman Kai-Luca Ampaw qualified for the Junior Championships, Wimbledon.
Ampaw won a pair of matches to qualify for the 64-player main draw. The British native opens bracket play against Andres
Santamarta Roig of Spain in the first round on Court 5 Sunday.
The Wimbledon Championships, one of four tennis grand slams, is the oldest tennis tournament in the world. It has been held at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London, since 1877 and is played on outdoor grass courts.
Ampaw reached 660 Junior ITF in 2022 and is a multiple time National Junior Champion. He represented GB U14 and attended Team GB Academy, where he was one of only 16 selected in the U.K.
