COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Gonzaga men's golfer
Ethan Flynn rose 12 spots on the leaderboard in the final round of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, finishing in third place at the Eisenhower Golf Course.
Flynn's final round of 66 (-6) led to an 11-under (277) team finish. The Zags climbed five spots in Round 3 and placed fifth as a team at one-over (865). Flynn's third round of 66 matched the seventh-lowest round score in program history, while the team 277 matched the eighth-lowest team round total.
Flynn had back-to-back rounds of 72 (E) to open the tournament Saturday and Sunday.
Guillermo Polo Bodart and Bruce Chang both tied for 34
th at four-over (220).
Charlie Olson carded a 68 (-4) in the third round and rose 37 spots on the leaderboard, finishing in 39
th at five-over (221).
Daniel Kim (65
th) was 10-over (226) in the event following one-over rounds Sunday and Monday. Playing on the Silver Course as an individual,
Daniel Nunez was seven-over (223) in 24
th place.
Colorado State won the team title at 14-under (850), while Utah State was second at five-under (859). CSU's Matthew Wilkinson took medalist honors at 10-under (206). Brady Kaufmann of SIU-Edwardsville was second at seven-under (209).
Gonzaga is at the Oregon State Invitational in Corvallis, Ore., for its next event. The tournament is Oct. 7-8. Live scoring will be available on GoZags.com.
