The future looks bright for Gonzaga Volleyball, as the program concluded the 2026 season by putting up the best team win percentage in nine years. The Zags moved up 113 spots in the NCAA RPI index compared to last year, making GU one of the 15 largest single improvements in NCAA Division 1 volleyball this year.
The team also set program records for the rally scoring era. The bulldogs finished the season with 180 aces, the most in a single season in program history under current scoring rules. The service ace success was led by
Autumn Larson, who finished tied for the most aces by a single player in this era, serving up 42 aces. She was 42nd overall in the nation in aces per set average. Larson finishes her career with 81 aces, sitting fourth all time in career aces in GU during rally scoring.
Taylor Walsh had the fourth most aces by a Zag in current scoring, adding another 39. She had a remarkable six aces in a single match against San Francisco, the second most by a GU player in a single game under current scoring.
Gonzaga also had their best hitting percentage in a decade, hitting .223 as a team.
Dani Johnson hit exactly .300 in her first year with the Zags, setting the 7th most efficient hitting season by a qualified GU player this century.
The Zags completed 1,430 total kills and 1,787 points on the year, both of which are the most by a bulldog team in a decade. This was led by
Sjakkie Donkers, who had 438 kills, the fourth most by a Zag player in a season in rally scoring. She averaged 4.5 points per set, only the second Gonzaga player since 2005 to score that many points per frame.
The efficient offensive play was a team effort, as the Zags had their most assists per set in a season in nine year, averaging 11.72 assists per set.
Nia Damuni passed the 2,000 assists milestone early in the season, and she finished the year with a total of 2,406, good for fourth most by a player in the scoring era and eighth all time.
