WBB Wins Overtime Game at Oregon State, 66-62

This is GU's 12th-straight win

CORVALLIS, Ore. – In the second-straight overtime game for the Zags, Gonzaga came out on top 66-62, at Oregon State. The Bulldogs were fueled by Yvonne Ejim's 31 points and nine rebounds. Allie Turner was the next leading scorer for GU with 13 points.

The game saw 11 lead changes and a tied contest at 12 different points of the game.

The first half was an evenly matched basketball game with a tied game at 14-14 at the end of the first. The Beavers took the slim 25-22 at the half. Gonzaga was paced by Ejim's 13 points as Salenbien and Turner also both scored four.

Both teams had some shooting slumps in the opening half as GU shot 36% and OSU shot 38.1%. The Beavers also had the edge in rebounding, 19-11.

The third quarter was controlled by Gonzaga as the Zags outscored Oregon State, 22-19. Turner scored seven of her points in the frame as the team shot an impressive 57.1% from the floor.

GU and OSU entered the fourth quarter tied, 44-44, after Gonzaga outscored the Beavers 22-19 in the third. The Zags held the Beavers to a scoring drought for almost four minutes to make it a two-point game midway through the final quarter.

Ejim drew a foul with nine seconds remaining regulation and made both of her free throws to tie the game. The Zags didn't allow a game winning play from OSU with some stellar defense to send the game into overtime.

Gonzaga dominated the overtime frame and never let Oregon State lead. The Zags outscored the Beavers in overtime with four different players scoring for GU.

Overall, GU shot at 41.4% and held OSU to 37.3%. The Zags also forced 16 turnovers from the Beavers and scored 16 points off those miscues. GU also outscored Oregon State inside the paint, 24-20, and from the bench, 14-8.

Notes:
- Ejim has scored double digits in 68-straight games. This marked the second time this season that she has reached at least 30 points in a game.

 - The Zags are now on a 12-game winning streak.

- This was the second time GU and OSU have gone to overtime this season. It also marked the second-straight OT win for the Bulldogs.
