SPOKANE, Wash. – On their final weekend of 2024-25 indoor season, Gonzaga men's and women's track raced at The Podium one last time in the Whitworth Invitational.
In the early heats of the men's 3000m,
Luke Alfonso placed fourth in 8:46.93, nearly improving his PR from earlier this season.
A dozen Bulldogs entered to race in the women's mile on Saturday.
Anna Lanigan led all attached runners with a third-place, 5:00.30 finish while
Tate Beasley (fifth, 5:02.06) and
Nina Yeats (eighth, 5:04.49) cracked the top ten. In total, eight Zags earned personal or season bests.
Ashlinn Aguayo and
Greta Dani were the first to record top ten entries on the day, racing in the 400-meters. Aguayo ran in the opening heat with a new PR time of 1:00.50, moving into No. 3 all time at Gonzaga. Then in heat three, Dani nearly matched Aguayo with a PR time of 1:00.52 to sneak into spot No. 4.
Olivia Ferraro placed fourth in her indoor 800-meter debut, finishing in 2:18.83 to win the second heat.
Tommy O'Neil just missed the Top Ten on the men's leaderboard, placing 11th overall in 1:59.50.
Anika Jones raced solo in the women's 3000-meters, earning a 26-second PR while winning the second heat of the event.
Four Bulldog men competed in the later heats of the 3000-meters:
Samy Anderson,
Aidan Baughan,
Caleb Richardson, and
Jonah Donde. Anderson placed fourth and came away with a two-second PR, and Baughan ran a season-best 8:26.87 and placed ninth. Richardson (8:39.20) and Donde (8:55.66) fell just short of personal best times on Saturday.
The Zag women closed out the afternoon in the 4x400m relay, placing third with the team consisting of Dani,
Olivia Ferraro,
Anna Lanigan, and Aguayo.

The Zags will have a one-month break from racing before they open their 2025 outdoor season March 20-21 on Whitworth's Boppell Track.
