SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga track teams returned to Whitworth's Boppell Track for the Jeff Rahn Classic on Friday, breaking a record and entering four times into the top ten lists on the afternoon.
Ellie Armbruster made her 1500-meter debut and placed first (4:32.05) for the Zag women Friday afternoon.
Kate Ferrell placed third in 4:40.80 as a total of six GU runners finished in the top ten.
For the second straight week at Whitworth,
Samy Anderson placed third in his lone event, finishing in 3:50.59 in the men's 1500m. Six Bulldogs placed in the top ten, with the majority notching personal best times.
The Gonzaga women swept the podium in the 800-meters, led by
Ireland Robertson's 2:10.17 first place finish. Her time ranks third all-time on the program list, while
Anna Grabowski moves into spot No. 6 with a 2:11.47 second place finish on Friday.
Tate Beasley just missed the Top Ten after Robertson's entry, recording the 11th fastest 800m in program history after placing third.
The women's 200-meter races concluded the afternoon for the Zags, as
Greta Dani broke the program record. Her 25.89 now tops the GU list, while
Presley Smith enters the list at No. 7 with a 26.63.

Gonzaga will split squads again next week, traveling to Azusa, Calif., for the Bryan Clay Invitational while some remain in Spokane for the Whitworth Twilight Meet.
