SAN BRUNO, Calif. – After picking up two big saves in Gonzaga's series win at Portland last weekend,
Erik Hoffberg won Rawlings West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Erik Hoffberg picked up two saves in Gonzaga's series win over Portland, securing the Bulldogs the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in the West Coast Conference Tournament this week. He did not allow a run in two and a third innings of work, amassing four strikeouts in the process. On Thursday, Hoffberg completed the ninth inning with two strikeouts to pick up his sixth save of the season. On Saturday, he entered in the eighth inning with two outs, striking out the final batter to leave the bases loaded. Later in the ninth, he worked around a leadoff double with another strikeout to pick up his league-leading seventh save. This is both Hoffberg and Gonzaga's first time winning Conference Pitcher of the Week this season.
