CORVALLIS, Ore. – Gonzaga women's track concluded their weekend at the Oregon State High Performance Meet on Saturday, racing early in the afternoon in the 800-meters at the Whyte Track & Field Center.
Ellie Armbruster ran in the invite portion of the 800-meters, placing fourth in 2:07.18.
Ashlinn Aguayo competed in the open section, finishing sixth in her heat with a time of 2:20.71. The two were the lone Zags in action on Saturday.
FRIDAY
Greta Dani,
Presley Smith, and
Ashlinn Aguayo kicked things off on Friday in the 200-meters. Dani led the charge by breaking her own program record, finishing in 25.44. Smith improved her PR and jumped up one spot on the program top ten to No. 6 with a time of 26.48, and Aguayo moved into No. 8 with a time of 26.58.
A dozen Bulldogs raced in the 1500-meters throughout the evening, led by
Logan Hofstee (4:26.24),
Anna Grabowski (4:26.27), and
Ireland Robertson (4:26.93). Hofstee's 4:26.24 marked her collegiate debut and entered at No. 9 all time.
In the steeplechase,
Jessica Frydenlund PR'd with a time of 10:21.73, solidifying her spot at No. 2 on the program top ten list.
The 5000-meters concluded day one with
Jade Rypkema's 17:07.05 leading the way.
Jasmine Nguyen (17:23.40) and
Ava Knap (18:24.89) also PR'd in the distance carnival on Friday.
UP NEXT
The Gonzaga women will return to Whitworth for the final time, racing in their Last Chance Meet on Wednesday. Then, the Zag men will head south to Oregon for their Twilight meet on Friday before stopping in Corvallis for the Pac-12 Open on Saturday.
