EUGENE, Ore. – Gonzaga men's track raced late on Friday at the Oregon Twilight meet at Hayward Field, putting together strong qualifying times in the steeplechase before rounding out their evening in the 5000-meters.
Cooper Laird and
Sean Janecko led the way in the 3000-meter steeplechase, moving up on the list for the NCAA West Preliminaries. With just ten days until the deadline, Laird and Janecko look to have their spots secure in College Station, Texas. Laird's 8:42.64 is third-fastest in program history, while Janecko's 8:47.32 is fifth-fastest.
In the 5K,
Logan Law finished first in 14:06.53,
Drew Kolodge finished second in 14:17.42, and
Mason Kissell finished sixth in 14:29.68. Law and Kolodge were in the lead pack wire-to-wire in their podium finishes to conclude GU's night.
