SAN BRUNO, Calif.- Gonzaga freshman right handed pitcher Landon Hood has been selected as the WCC Freshman of the Week on Monday. This is already the third time that Hood has won the weekly award this season.
Hood picked up his second win of the season on Saturday, throwing five scoreless innings in relief against Creighton. He only allowed two hits while striking out eight batters. Hood currently has a 5 to 1 strikeout to walk ratio, with 25 punchouts on the season while allowing only five free passes this season. He currently has a .094 batting average against and has still not allowed a run this season across his 16.1 innings of work.
