The Pilots utilized Strech's versatility and toughness to help propel them to two NCAA tournament appearances during his time on the bluff. In 2021, Stretch scored a goal against San Francisco, which ended up being the game-winner for the Pilots.
As a youth player Stretch played for the Sounders academy and S2 for the Seattle MLS organization.
"RJ is a Spokane kid who played for the Seattle Sounders academy as a youth, and collected valuable collegiate experience over the last four years," Lewis said. "He has played in multiple NCAA tournament matches and those experiences will add fuel to our team trajectory here this Fall. RJ is tough, competitive and has a vast passing range. We believe that his attributes can be utilized in multiple positions this fall."
