Bulldogs Drop Baseball Nightcap 10-3

SEATTLE - Husky starter Zach Daniels (2-0) pitched a complete game in the second game of the doubleheader limiting Gonzaga (26-27) to just three runs including two solo home runs as Washington knocked Gonzaga 10-3 in the nightcap.

Washington (26-23-1) struck first in the second game as they scored two first inning runs against Gonzaga starter Steve Hare (0-1). Brandon Jacobson drew a lead off walk, coming around to score on a single up the middle by Taylor Johnson. Johnson then scored on a Tyler Davidson single. Johnson then added two more runs to the Huskies total with a two-run home run in the second.

Gonzaga used the long ball to cut the Huskies lead in half with solo home runs by Kemp Quackenbush in the third and Nate Gold in the fourth. For Gold it was his second of the day and 32nd of the season.

Washington pushed the margin back to 5-2 in the bottom of the fourth as Greg Isaacson led off with a single and came around to score on a Jay Garthwaite RBI single through the left side. The Huskies added three more runs in the fifth, two crossing the plate on bases loaded walks.

Richardson finished with two of Gonzaga's six hits while John Otness finished 4-for-4 to lead Washington.
