CHANDLER, Ariz. - Gonzaga University's men's golf team wasn't able to pick up any ground in Tuesday's final round of the ReBath Snowman Getaway, finishing the 54-hole tournament with a 931 for 11th place.
The Bulldogs shot a 307 in Tuesday's final 18-holes, their lowest round of the tourney.
Derek Cheney paced the Bulldogs with a 54-hole score of 229 following a final-round 77 to go with Monday's rounds of 75-77 over the 7,334-yard, par 72 Whirlwind Golf Club's Cattail Course. Kevin PArkhurst shot a final-round 73, the best Gonzaga round of the tournament, to finish tied for 38th at 231, recovering from rounds of 81-77 Monday.
The Bulldogs finished four strokes ahead of Utah Valley University. The host Cougars won the tournament with an 871 for a 7-stroke victory over University of Missouri.
Brett Iliff of UMKC captured medalist honors at 211 with rounds of 70-71-70, good for a 2-stroke victory over Tom Whitney of the Air Force Academy and Brad Tensen of the University of Idaho.
The Bulldogs will return to action Monday and Tuesday at the Braveheart Classic at Oak Valley Golf Course hosted by UC Riverside in Riverside, Calif.
