SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University women's tennis team had its four-match winning streak snapped with a 6-1 non-conference defeat to the visiting University of Idaho at the Spokane Racquet Club Friday evening.
The Zags (4-2) were led by Kristina Zauere who posted a win at No. 2 singles. Both teams put together three well played doubles matches with Idaho winning at No. 1 before Clare Dodge and Zauere posted an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles but the Vandals were able to take the point with a win at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, the Bulldogs were a couple points from swinging two matches in their favor as Danielle Farmer and Prue Teitzel each suffered three-set defeats at No. 3 and No. 4 singles respectively. Zauere picked up the Zags lone point with a 6-2 6-1 victory.
Gonzaga hosts Eastern Washington University Saturday.
