BANDON, Ore. - A miserable day for golf saw just two teams finish the second round of the Bandon Dunes Championship hosted by Gonzaga University as weather and darkness put a damper on Thursday's play.

For the record the University of Notre Dame holds the first-round lead at 317, good for a 7-stroke advantage over the University of Idaho and a 14-stroke edge over the Bulldogs.

Tom Usher of the Fighting Irish and UI's David Nuhn share medalist honors after shooting 76, good for a 1-shot lead over Doug Fortner of Notre Dame.

But the weather took center stage with a steady wind of 25 mph gusting to 50 mph and rain playing havoc on the Pacific Dunes Golf and Country Club Course that is 6,536 yards at par 71.

Another 1 ½ inches of rain and heavy winds were expected Thursday night, and Gonzaga head coach Robert Gray said he is hopeful 36 holes can be completed. Several teams have afternoon flights and the uncertainty of the weather and course conditions may make 54 holes unlikely.

Jason Azzarito is tied for eighth for the Bulldogs with an 81, Derek Cheney is tied for 10th at 82, Francisco Santiago is tied for 22nd at 85 and Travis Johnsen is tied for 29th at 87.
